Tony
Aderhold is a native Atlantan with a passion for security
and public safety. Prior to beginning his career in security, he served
eight years in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. In 1979 he started
as a Loss Prevention Officer with the Zayre Corporation. Tony is a certified
Crime Prevention Specialist and Law Enforcement Defensive Tactics Senior
Instructor at the Fulton County Public Safety’s Training Center.
He is also part of the training Staff at Prince Karate Academy, which
has provided classes for the East Point and College Park communities.
He has spent twenty seven years providing security in retail, hotel,
and medical environments. Mr. Aderhold has also conducted crime prevention
/ self-defense classes for numerous organizations in the public and
private sectors consisting of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on
practice. His Instructor Certifications include Defensive Tactics, OC
(pepper) Spray, ISC Control Points, Taser Device, NRA “Refuse
to be A Victim” Program, and NRA “Basic Firearm and Home
Safety” Program.
Phillis
Bostar has been a working artist for more than 20 years. She
especially enjoys graphite and colored pencils, and has won several
awards using each medium. Phillis is constantly expanding her creative
interests to include ceramics, fiber art, and linoleum prints. Working
as an instructor satisfies her two greatest passions: teaching and art.
She is a lifetime member of the North Cobb Arts League and has served
as a juror for the Cobb and Cherokee Counties Reflections Art Competition
and Home School Expressions Art Competition. Phillis also teaches art
and creative skills to children and adults in Atlanta, Kennesaw, &
Acworth.
Jack
Boutin has forty years of design experience. A graduate of
Auburn University, Mr. Boutin’s earlier years combined architecture,
residential design, and interior design. Most notable career work consisted
of several projects for IBM while at TVS&A; projects for NDC, and
MSA while an equity partner at Godwin & Associates; many prestigious
law firms while at Jova/Daniels/Busby; and millions of square feet of
office planning while president of J. Boutin, ASID. A professional member
of ASID for many years, Mr. Boutin served or chaired several committees,
taught university level courses as an adjunct professor, and served
on the Governor’s Construction Codes Study Committee.
Sandra
Bowden is originally from Detroit, MI and started her pursuit
of architecture at an early age. She majored in architectural design
at the University of Detroit. After migrating south and returning to
school, Sandy completed an Associates of Applied Science degree in General
Technology and received software certifications, which included AutoCAD.
She later returned to school and completed a Bachelors of Science in
Technical Management from DeVry University.
Sandra has held several positions from CAD Manager to IT Manager at
various A/E firms locally and even co-partnered a CAD and Computer training
center. She is our resident expert in Autodesk Software, and conducts
the AutoCAD & REVIT shops.
Matthew
Carr is a registered architect in Georgia with NCARB status.
He is also a LEED Accredited Professional and member of the USGBC with
several Levels of LEED buildings designed up to the Platinum designation.
His background also includes high-end residential, convention centers,
office and transportation. He has worked in the prestigious firms of
CSHQA in Boise, Atlanta based TVS-design, and Cooper Carry. He was a
co-founder of the TVS branch of Toastmasters, and has taught A.R.E.
discussion groups for over a decade. He has had a hand in the behind-the-scenes
re-organization of one firm including implementation of a 360 degree
review process, and job description package. He is a master at both
AutoCAD and MicroStation. He has used Sketch-up (currently version 7)
since its inception in 2000, and embraces the change to BIM with emphasis
using REVIT.
He achieved his B.Arch degree from the University of Idaho in 1996,
and passed the ARE the first time through in less than 10 weeks in 2000.

Simon
Duffy is a native Englishman whose career in television and
print journalism has taken him around the world. Starting as a junior
reporter on his hometown newspaper in Sheffield, Yorkshire, he moved
on to a major London-based national TV network in his mid-twenties and
from there began a decade long stint as a freelance producer/director
for some of the biggest television networks in the world. His work has
been seen on the BBC, ABC, ESPN, NHK of Japan, and across Europe and
Asia. His print journalism has been published in The Sunday Times of
London and he is working on a book. He also writes fiction following
the adventures of an Atlanta-based homicide detective.
George
Greene is an artist and art educator from Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
As an artist, George has enjoyed many successes in his short career.
His work has been displayed in Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia and is
frequently featured in live art shows in Atlanta, Georgia. His specialties
include oil and acrylic painting, figure and portrait drawing and calligraphy.
George holds a bachelors
degree from Auburn University where he studied Art and Architecture
and has studied Art Education at the University of Montevallo in Alabama.
He is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts degree and teaches in
Cobb County.
Darlene
Hall has a 25-year background in entertainment from script
writing, studio producing and playwriting to commercial voiceovers and
actor coaching. For 13 years she played the role of Lequisha on the
radio soap opera Its Your World, on the Tom Joyner Morning Show. Darlene
is known for exceptional comedic timing and endless wit, while also
bringing her audiences to tears. As owner of Illuminators Academy of
Performing Arts and DarTalent, she trained adults and children for stage
and commercial acting. Darlene’s enthusiasm in bringing a character
to life is a true testament to her talent.
Ian
M. Johnson (b. 1977) is
a Modern-Day Renaissance Man endowed with the gift of visual communication.
Born in Elkridge, Maryland and raised in Atlanta, Georgia he has become
a world traveler well-versed in several disciplines, languages and cultures.
His diverse professional experience as an artist, designer, educator,
photographer and writer afford him a unique perspective on an array
of subjects. These views are apparent in the multifaceted nature of
his collection of visual works. His work has been featured in several
contemporary publications including Interior Design Magazine, as well
as other arts & entertainment, and design trade journals.

Ricardo Johnson
is a veteran of television production with over 20 years experience.
The exciting life of entertainment caught Rick’s attention early
in his career: he got his start with his own music video show. Since
then, he has produced, directed, and edited everything from sports shows
to talk shows. He has had the great opportunity of working with some
of the biggest names in entertainment while working at major networks
(affliates) like ABC, NBC, CBS, and Fox as well as Black Entertainment
Television. His vast talent has even taken him to the stage working
on plays like Tyler Perry’s "Why Did I Get Married."
Most recently, he has added educating young people about the nuts and
bolts of television production to his resume.
Dr.
Clyde Lettsome, PhD, PE brings a wealth of experience in business
development and management. Prior to co-founding Calabrix, he founded
and served as the CEO of Paragon Vending LTD, the second largest vending
machine operation in the British Virgin Islands. In addition to management
experience, Dr. Lettsome brings technical experience and knowledge.
He has worked for Sigma Electrical and Environmental Engineering as
an electrical engineering consultant, for Computer Sciences Raytheon
a telemetry engineer, NASA as a space program contractor, and Rockwell
Collins as a digital signal processing and digital engineer.
In addition to practical experience, he has earned his Bachelor’s
and Master’s of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering from
the Florida Institute of Technology, and his Master’s of Science
degree in Engineering Management from the Florida Institute of Technology
and his Doctorate of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering with a minor
in Business Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Additionally,
Dr. Lettsome is a Florida state licensed Professional Engineer.
Fei
Meng is a management consulting executive with special expertise
in the sales and marketing of educational products. As Vice President
and General Manager of Zhuocheng International Education, he created
a sustainable business model on “edutainment”: programming
that combines education and entertainment. He has managed the design
and implementation of a nationally broadcast television show with more
than 30,000 participating children, hosted a cross-cultural educational
English-language radio program on China National Radio, and organized
a 7-city promotional campaign for these materials including seminars,
conferences, and marketing activities. He also created and directed
the Textbook Development Department, which published more than 100 books
from 2005 to 2008.
Melissa Middleton
is an intern architect who organizes an ARE study group for the Atlanta
area. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Environmental
Design from Auburn University as well as a Master of Business Administration
from Auburn University Montgomery. She is also a LEED accredited professional.
Ms. Middleton has 5 years experience in the government sector, 4 years
experience working with a structural engineer and 2 years with Gardner,
Spencer, Smith, Tench & Jarbeau here in Atlanta. Ms. Middleton is
from McKenzie, Alabama and enjoys working on sustainability projects,
volunteer work, and assisting local intern architects in achieving their
license within the new ARE transition.
Christine Seelye-King
is a professional Chef Instructor and is the author of “The Feast
Planner’s Handbook”. She graduated from the American Culinary
Federation’s apprenticeship program and is a certified ServSafe
instructor and proctor for the National Restaurant Association.
Chef Christy has taught students of all ages in small private classrooms,
hands-on kitchens, demonstration theatres, schools, colleges, health
food stores and even around campfires. Her specialties include event
planning, catering to special needs diets, and historical research.
Greg
Pugh is an animator and graphic designer who has recently moved
to Georgia from Pennsylvania. He attended Penn State University where
he received a B.A. in Integrative Arts (Digital Media). He has been
using Flash animation software for over eight years. He has taught Flash
at two schools, was an editorial cartoonist, a graphic designer in print
advertising and a web designer for an Inc. 500 company.
Jinean
Robinson is Creative Director at Germ, LLC and has developed
identity and branding systems, promotional material, packaging, publication
design, product design, online, print and television advertising campaigns
for a wide range of Fortune 500 companies. As a lead creative, Ms. Robinson
lead Burrell Communications in becoming the American Association of
Advertising Agency’s Multicultural Agency of the Year, with the
work she developed for Verizon. Her viral brand ideas have garnered
millions of consumers to have affinity and ambassadorship for brands
worldwide. She has developed marketing strategies for local and national
companies including Adcouncil, Gatorade, Georgia Power, L’Oreal,
McDonalds, Proctor & Gamble, Tropicana, and Verizon. For nearly
a decade she has created unforgettable communications in the US and
Europe through her emphasis on strategic creative solutions that speak
to the soul.
Jinean currently resides in Atlanta, GA USA, continuing travels worldwide
to grow her
company Germ, activism efforts, and artistry in film, fashion, and the
fine arts.
Heather
Ruhe is a two-time collegiate all-American and one of only
675 female members of the PGA of America. A graduate of the University
of Findlay in Ohio, she earned medalist honors twelve times. In 1997,
she won the Ohio Women's State Invitational. Heather earned All-American
honors twice and finished runner-up in the 1998 National Championships
where she broke two national scoring records. Heather competed on the
Futures Golf Tour, the developmental tour for the LPGA, from 1993 to
2000. She has served as a teaching professional at the prestigious Cherokee
Town & CC in Atlanta, Georgia. She is a member of the educational
staff at the PGA Tour Superstores and continues to dedicate her career
to helping all players achieve their golfing goals.
Ray
Sanavandi has many years of experience in architecture, college
teaching, and art. He has practiced architecture in Rome, Como (Italy),
Guatemala, and, currently in Atlanta. His specialties are illustration,
architectural rendering (digital and freehand); and his preferred media
are watercolor, acrylic, and markers. He has extensive experience in
teaching visualization techniques, rapid visualization, and freehand
sketching.
Ray keeps visual
journals which resemble an illustrated life, a translation of his travels
and daily life into drawings. He has studied architecture at Rome University
and has a Master’s Degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Veronica
Slater caught the travel bug at a young age. She knew that
she was hooked the first time she went to the airport and saw a plane
take off.
A third generation aviation professional, Veronica’s grandfather
was one of the first African American Skycaps at United Airlines. Veronica’s
mother was a Customer Service Agent for American Airlines and in March
of 1990, Veronica’s grandfather proudly passed the torch by pinning
on her wings at the United Airlines flight attendant training center.
Since then, Veronica has travelled the US recruiting Flight Attendants
while also preparing them for final interview, been on-board advisor,
and in-flight purser for domestic and international destinations. Passionate
about teaching and the field of aviation, her latest ventures include
The LearnShop and training new flight attendant hires on in-flight services
and safety procedures.

Rishan Tesfamichael, AIA, Realtor is a registered architect,
licensed real estate broker and LEED Accredited Professional with an
incredible range of exposure including transportation, healthcare, higher
education, K-12, science & technology, and interiors. Her resume
is branded by industry shakers such as HOK, Perkins+Will, Heery International,
and real estate brokerage firms GMAC Real Estate & Chapman Hall.
She has worked with a number of distinguished clients to include NASA,
Kaiser Permanente, Georgia Institute of Technology, Dekalb County Solicitor-General,
and even the State Fair of Texas.
She is an experienced speaker and educator, having served as adjunct
faculty at the university level, K-12 instructor in Paris, France, as
well as a conference speaker for the American
Institute of Architects (AIA). She also has a cumulative 8 years
of experience in architectural planning & design, commercial real
estate, and academia. Entering Georgia Tech at the age of 16, and recipient
of the Bachelor of Science and Master of Architecture degrees, she is
one of the few and youngest designated both an Architect & Real Estate
Broker.
